Why are
you learning English? Is it just for
chatting with English speakers?
HSA (Harvard
Square Academy) reminds you of the right
answer: develop your skills to become prime
human capital in the new global economy.
For this objective, education for
international professionals and students
needs to integrate three components: language
skills (e.g., speaking and writing),
knowledge (e.g., marketing, finance,
and law), and communication skills
(e.g., discussion and presentation).
On a personal
level, HSA aims to help ESL (English-as-a-second
language) learners build confidence and
competence in the global economy. HSA intends
to practice knowledge-based English to improve
students¡¯ professional skill set and to
enhance their career opportunities. By
helping you, HSA also believes it can contribute
to developing the global economy. Your
skills will help enhance systems productivity
and transform business, government, and
non-profit organizations into more agile
and globally oriented entities. Finally,
within national and global communities,
the HSA program is a time-efficient way
to develop the human capital of both underprivileged
populations and more prosperous individuals
and organizations.
